Program Overview

Foundations II

Drs. Chris Holder and Heather Wolf teaching qigong

The Next Stage in the Study and Personal Practice of Energetic Medicine

Foundations II is the next stage in the study and personal practice of Energetic Medicine. Building upon the work established in Foundations I, this 16-week course begins by refining the student's daily practice — developing greater sensitivity, precision, awareness, and intention — and then launches beyond the fundamentals into deeper energetic cultivation, personal transformation, and the facilitation of healing.

The practices learned in Foundations I are strengthened and expanded as students begin to understand what they are actually cultivating within their bodies. From this powerful foundation, we develop more advanced internal work through energetic cultivation practices including Qigong prescriptions, guided meditations, and Yiquan. These practices drive deep emotional and spiritual development.

Healing principles are presented, including concepts of developing mindset, intention setting, and personal development frameworks to assist the transformation of the human being.

What Makes This Program Different

Sensitivity. Precision. Intention.

Foundations I establishes the practice. Foundations II refines and deepens internal cultivation — the objective is not simply to accumulate more techniques.

Supercharge the Morning Practice

+

Foundations II supercharges the morning practice. Students begin to experientially understand the purposes of the exercises — developing greater sensitivity, precision, awareness, and intention in the practices established in Foundations I.

Restore Wholeness and Congruity Within the Person

+

Explore practices intended to reclaim personal energy, strengthen energetic boundaries, address attachments and energetic cords, and cultivate a greater sense of integration and personal sovereignty.

Deepen Internal Cultivation Through Yiquan

+

Students are introduced to Yiquan and internal energetic training, exploring the relationship between posture, structure, breath, awareness, intention, and energetic movement.

Begin Facilitating Healing

+

This work mindfully develops the internal foundation necessary to approach Energetic Medicine with greater awareness, purpose, depth, and the ability to begin facilitating healing.

Active Clinicians

Unlike many programs led by instructors removed from clinical practice for years — or even decades — this training is continuously informed by direct patient experience and current clinical realities.

What You Will Learn

Sixteen Weeks of Refinement, Cultivation, and Reintegration

Four areas of study, developed progressively across the course.

1
Daily Practice

Refining the Daily Practice

Foundations II begins by refining the daily practice established in Foundations I. The practices are strengthened and expanded as students begin to understand what they are actually cultivating within their bodies — developing:

  • Greater sensitivity
  • Precision
  • Awareness
  • Intention
Foundations II supercharges the morning practice. Students begin to experientially understand the purposes of the exercises — the objective is not simply to accumulate more techniques.
2
Energetic Cultivation

Advanced Internal Work

From this powerful foundation, we develop more advanced internal work through energetic cultivation practices. Students are introduced to Yiquan and internal energetic training, exploring the relationship between posture, structure, breath, awareness, intention, and energetic movement.

  • Qigong prescriptions
  • Guided meditations
  • Yiquan and internal energetic training
  • Meditation and internal cultivation
Meditation and internal cultivation deepen as students learn to quiet unnecessary mental activity, strengthen energetic sensitivity, and become increasingly conscious of their internal state. These practices drive deep emotional and spiritual development.
3
Restoring Wholeness

Energetic and Personal Reintegration

Foundations II is centered on restoring wholeness and congruity within the person. Within traditional energetic and spiritual frameworks, significant experiences such as trauma, loss, grief, difficult relationships, prolonged stress, betrayal, and major life transitions may leave a person feeling depleted, fragmented, or disconnected from aspects of themselves. This process provides a framework for exploring these experiences and working toward greater energetic and personal reintegration.

Students will examine relationships, experiences, and periods of their lives in which personal energy and attention may still feel invested. Through structured meditation, visualization, intention, and energetic practices, we explore how connections to past experiences may continue to influence present-day emotions, behaviors, relationships, and our perception of ourselves. Students will explore practices intended to reclaim personal energy, strengthen energetic boundaries, address attachments and energetic cords, and cultivate a greater sense of integration and personal sovereignty.

The integration process is developed progressively throughout Foundations II:

  • Preparation
  • Grounding
  • Intention
  • Energetic awareness
  • Retrieval
  • Reintegration
  • Closure
The purpose is not to erase or deny the past. Instead, we ask: What part of my energy, attention, identity, or sense of self may still be connected to what happened?
4
Healing Principles

Mindset, Emotion, and the Energetic Body

Healing principles are presented, including concepts of developing mindset, intention setting, and personal development frameworks to assist the transformation of the human being. We continue exploring the relationship between the student's dominant emotional state of consciousness and their energetic body — learning how long-standing emotional patterns can influence stress, tension, relationships, behavior, and personal well-being.

Principles that complement this work:

  • Attention
  • Discipline
  • Visualization
  • Resilience
  • Focused mindset
This work mindfully develops the internal foundation necessary to approach Energetic Medicine with greater awareness, purpose, depth, and the ability to begin facilitating healing.
